Meine Tipps für zukünftige Reisende:
Bezahl nicht mehr als 2,50 Soles für ein Taxi in Cusco und nicht mehr als 0,60 Soles für den Bus
Wenn Dir auf den Märkten ein Preis genannt wird, biete die Hälfte, denn Du bekommst am Anfang immer die Touristenpreise
Alkohol wirkt in diesen Höhen stärker und schneller
Nimm den Bus zum Machu Picchu und nicht den langweiligen Zug
Wenn Du vor hast den Huayna Picchu zu besteigen, wander nicht schon bis zum Machu Picchu
Fasse mit 10 Wörtern Deinen Aufenthalt zusammen: habe neue Freunde gefunden, Travallers dort sind nett und offen, habe ein total anderes, großartiges und atemberaubendes Land gesehen, habe Kokatea getrunken und Meerschwein gegessen (mach das auf einem Markt, nicht in einem Restaurant)... das sind mehr als 10 Worte :D
Was hätte Dein Erlebnis besser gemacht?
ein längerer Aufanthalt!!!
Ich hätte gern besser gewusst, was ich den Kindern und dem Projekt mitbringen kann (die Projekte dort brauchen Papier, Spielzeug, Kleidung; bring nicht zu viele Sachen von zu Hause mit, kaufe es einfach da)

What were the highlights of your trip?
The highlights of the trip were making friends with the kids and helping them to learn. I also loved all the people I met out there through LatinoAmericana (the language school that coordinates everything within the country) and really enjoying living in a city where I could speak the language with all the locals.
Do you have 3 top tips for future travellers?
Take warm clothes!
Be proactive - ask the teacher if there is anything you want to do with the kids and generally you will be able to do it
Be open for meeting new people.

Is there anything that would have made your experience better? The volunteering placement wasn't very well organised and I was thrown in without any introduction or told where I was needed and what to do. I think it's important that Latinoamericana have more connection with the school and find out what each volunteer has to offer and whether or not they would like to teach. Although I loved my class and the kids to bits, I would've loved to have taught more classes than I had the opportunity to. Otherwise, the accommodation was great and I had an amazing time with the kids either way!
